As pet owners, we all hope that our furry friends will never experience a medical emergency. However, accidents and illnesses can happen at any time, and it’s important to know what to do in case of an emergency, our Aventura, FL veterinary team is here for you!
During Business Hours
We accept pet emergencies on a case-by-case basis. Please call us at 305-974-5510 to confirm if we can get your pet a same-day appointment. If we cannot see your pet, we will refer you to an emergency pet hospital. Please see the “After Hours Emergency Care” section below.
What is Considered a Pet Emergency
There are several signs that may indicate your pet is experiencing a medical emergency. These include:
- Difficulty breathing
- Unconsciousness
- Severe bleeding
- Ingestion of toxic substances
- Severe vomiting or diarrhea
- Inability to urinate
- Seizures
- Difficulty standing or walking
- Extreme lethargy
- Trauma or injury
If you notice any of these signs in your pet, it’s important to seek emergency vet services immediately.
